Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust is a mandated Iwi Authority responsible for the protection and growth of assets returned through treaty settlements. We have an integrated operating model that has been designed to reflect the distinct character of the ancestral name Rongowhakaata, with three specialist business units – Wharekai, Rongo and Whakaata.

Kaiurungi Tū
Are you a creative leader with a deep respect for tikanga and a passion for iwi growth? Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust are looking for a Kaiurungi Tū, a rare opportunity focused on integrating mātauranga and commercial acumen.
Mō te tūranga / About the Role:
Reporting to the Kaihautu, the Kaiurungi Tū works with their senior leadership peers to ensure the sustainable growth of the Iwi Trust’s asset base and the vitality of our iwi and Rongowhakaatatanga. You are responsible for managing your team, assets, taiao programmes, and oversee commercial projects, all while fostering the voice and kaupapa of our marae and hapū.
