#RESHARE: HAUORA TAIRĀWHITI
Manutuke School are keeping their town bus children isolated together at school today.
Hauora Tairāwhiti Medical Officer of Health, Dr Oz advises that there is no need for alarm. The school made the decision after a parent at the bus stop mentioned that their children had contact with a contact of a person who has COVID 19.
Dr Oz says that the two children from Manutuke School are not contacts of a confirmed case of COVID-19. They are contacts of a contact of a contact!
There is no risk to other whānau; no need for precautionary measures.
It is normal that all contacts of a confirmed case are followed up, and this is being done in Auckland.
Should the contact test positive, there is still no risk to the Manutuke school students as they are not close contacts of this person (they are still contacts of a contact).
Confused? Don't be. Just relax, wash your hands and stay home if you are sick!.
