In Episode 3, "Economics of Identity," we explore the journey of Moera Brown, a symbol of enduring leadership within the Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust. Since 2011, Moera has guided the iwi through key milestones, from the Treaty of Waitangi settlement and Tuia 250 to the Covid-19 response. Her diverse experiences, from rural upbringing to police college and board service, have shaped her into a leader who leverages her identity as an economic force, a concept we call ‘Moeranomics.’

Episode 6: Connie Maynard
Whakapapa: A Sense of Duty

The Maynard family has long been part of Rongowhakaata's political fabric, and Connie continues this legacy, safeguarding their identity for future generations. This episode follows her full-circle journey, shaped by whakapapa and duty, returning back to Manutūkē. Episode 7: Roxanne Smith
Keeping it Tūturu

Growing up in Manutūkē, she stepped up to lead her whānau through a pivotal historical moment for Te Kooti, his legacy, Rongowhakata, and Aotearoa. In this GATT IT episode, we explore Roxanne's life journey from Manutūkē to the Waitangi tribunal, to establishing her own kaupapa Māori evaluation services, and gaining extensive experience in the governance space.
