It is a privilege to be on the Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust representing Te Kuri a Tuatai Marae. I’ve served as Trustee on the Rongowhakaata Charitable Trust for our Marae from October 2008 till October 2010, as a trustee on Te Rūnanga o Tūranganui ā Kiwa and a director on Tūranga Health. I’ve been extensively involved with the Marae since returning home in 2004 and my contribution to the Marae is evident in the vast improvements that have been made there, both physically and financially.

I bring to this role 20 years of experience in logistics, inventory management and having worked in various financial systems over the years. My key focus will be on the well being of my Whānau, Marae, Hapū and Iwi, by sustaining and growing our taonga and forging relationships beneficial to us as a region.

I am passionate in the support of Iwi/Hapū achieving excellence in the pursuit of their aspirations, health of their culture, environment; and economic assets that together will support their social wellbeing. To achieve this I’ve become a highly effective senior manager in central and in local governments. I have held management positions in Māori land based entities, non Māori entities such as the Rugby Union.

I continue to be involved in Governance positions as listed above, including being a member of the Ahu Whenua Māori Farmer of the Year governance team. I have a strong background in the development and delivery of strategy and policy within and across organisations private and public. My success is underpinned by excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and is characterised by a natural ability to infl uence and lead individuals, teams and disparate groups with a strong focus on delivery ensuring alignment to the business.
