I love community led initiatives that bring people together and empower communities to take ownership of their lives. I believe that I can bring to RIT experience in community development and sound decision making. Being a project lead for a new initiative around youth culture in Rotorua has seen many opportunities of innovation and creative thinking. To dare go where no one else has been can be quite daunting but is necessary in order to see social change.

Being involved in various committees and boards has given me governance experience and the ability to quickly problem solve and analyse important decisions in a way which is transparent and has integrity. I advocate for robust policy, strategic planning and effective communication where all parties are informed. Community engagement is another imperative means to empower communities and unifying people.

I bring innovation, creative thinking, boldness and commitment to seeing our iwi progress forward. Transparency, integrity, honesty and clear avenues of accessible for individuals and whanau are aspects I like to see evident for our people.

Sustainability and leadership development that foster succession is another area I would like to explore. I believe we have the key people and resources within our iwi, so why are we not utilising that skill base?

I will serve our people to the best of my ability and ensure fairness and transparency. I am objective in all that I do and would advocate for the people.
